The Ice Patrol MK2 is a new and improved version of the popular Ice Patrol boots by VEGETARIAN SHOES. It likewise combines the comfort of a sport shoe with the sturdiness of a winter boot, and is again made from robust synthetic leather and nylon. Changes to the shaft, lacing and tongue have improved this model, yet the excellent Italian-made rubber sole remains unchanged. The sole is stitched and has a deep tread, offering excellent grip. The feature that really makes this shoe stand out is the spikes that are integrated into the sole, which can be folded in and out in seconds. This makes the shoes perfect for slippery, icy conditions, yet allows the spikes to be folded away quickly when going indoors or walking on surfaces that could be damaged by the spikes. The Ice Patrol Boot is an exceptionally good winter boot. It keeps feet pleasantly warm and has extra padding on the tongue and collar. It can also be worn in fall and spring, and even in summer when the weather isn't that warm! To help improve the water-resistant properties, it is a good idea to use proofing spray, (particularly on the seams) to help keep feet dry and ensure the shoes last longer.
