LAÜD Recycled is a young and 100% vegan footwear brand based in Elche, Spain, which is known as the capital of Spanish shoe production. The brand was founded by Oneida Román, who noticed a lack of stylish and ethical shoes on the market. As her family is involved in the production of vegan and recycled leather alternatives, she took it upon herself to start this project. LAÜD Recycled was established in September 2019 with the aim of creating fashionable vegan sneakers with minimal environmental impact.
Their range of colorful to simple sportive sneakers is made using recycled PET, cork, recycled rubber, and coffee grains. Even the insoles are crafted from industrial waste from mattresses. To minimize transport routes, the materials are sourced from local suppliers only. All of their shoes are made in small family factories that are certified by the SMETA-Audit (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit). The audit evaluates not only healthy and safe working conditions but also environmental standards and business ethics.
