8000kicks made it happen: the Portuguese brand has created vegan hemp sneakers that are waterproof, PFC-free and yet breathable. The idea to make shoes from hemp came to founder Bernardo late at night (or probably early in the morning) in the company of his friends and after a few beers & "smokes". Fortunately, it remained not only an idea. Bernardo asked his grandmother Otilia for advice, who has over 50 years of experience working with a wide variety of textiles - and without further ado, made her the co-founder of 8000kicks! Together, they worked with suppliers from around the world for over a year until they came up with the world's first waterproof hemp shoe that met all of their needs. The sneakers are made from eco-friendly, durable material, so they'll stand up to all your adventures.

The name 8000Kicks is a nod to the fact that the average person takes around 8,000 steps per day, and the brand's sneakers are designed to provide comfort and support for every one of those steps.
